SMHEB Series: Unidirectional ESD and Surge Defense in a Slim SOD-323HE-B Package

MCC is excited to introduce the SMHEB series, including the SMHEB15A and SMHEB30A, a new line of unidirectional TVS diodes designed to protect DC power rails from fast ESD strikes and high-energy surges. These transients can overstress PMICs, voltage regulators, and other sensitive components. Designers need compact, reliable protection that fits into height-constrained spaces without compromising performance or adding complexity. 

The SMHEB series offers protection across a wide voltage range, from 6.5 V to 58 V, with fast clamping action and a 200 W peak pulse rating (10/1000 μs waveform). This helps absorb high-energy transients and safeguard downstream circuitry. Housed in the ultra-compact SOD-323HE-B package, these diodes are ideal for placement near connectors or loads, improving clamping effectiveness while conserving PCB space. 

With low leakage current and low capacitance, the SMHEB series minimizes impact on power efficiency and regulator stability during normal operation. The unidirectional configuration is optimized for DC power lines in industrial, telecom, consumer, and data center applications.
