Expanding Regional Manufacturing to Strengthen Global Supply Chains

Micro Commercial Components (MCC) is accelerating its commitment to electrification, miniaturization, and regional sourcing with the upcoming launch of its automotive-grade SMx Series in 2026 at our fully operational Vietnam facility. This strategic expansion empowers global customers to diversify supply chains, reduce risk, and gain sourcing flexibility.

2026: Automotive-Grade SMx Series Expansion

The SMx Series will include SMA, SMB, SOD-123FL, and TO-277 packages, engineered for high-current, thermally efficient performance in demanding automotive environments. These solutions are ideal for:

  • Electric Vehicles (EVs)
  • Electronic Control Units (ECUs)
  • Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS)
  • Power Conversion Modules

SMx Highlights:

  • AEC-Q101 automotive qualification
  • High-current, thermally robust designs
  • Targeted for EV power modules, ECUs, ADAS, and on-board chargers
  • Regional production for faster qualification and scalable supply

This expansion strengthens MCC’s global footprint, enabling customers to source regionally without compromising quality or reliability.

What’s Available Today: Vietnam Facility Fully Operational

While SMx launches in 2026, MCC’s Vietnam backend facility is already delivering value. The site has passed multiple customer audits and currently produces a broad portfolio of rectifiers, small-signal devices, and TVS diodes, ensuring supply chain resilience and flexibility.

Current Production Capabilities

  • Rectifiers: 0.5 A to 15 A : Packages: SMA, SMB, SMC, SOD-123FL, TO-277
  • Small-Signal Devices: SOD-123, SOD-323, SOT-23 (low profile, max height 1.10 mm)
  • TVS Diodes: Circuit protection for computing, industrial, and consumer systems

Designed for scalability, the Vietnam facility supports high-volume throughput and efficient product transfers, with front-end investment planned for 2026 to advance MCC’s regional manufacturing strategy.

How Customers Benefit from This Expansion

MCC’s Vietnam facility plays a key role in its China+1 strategy. Customers gain greater sourcing flexibility, shorter lead times, and enhanced supply chain resilience.

  1. Alternative Country of Origin
Vietnam production offers a non-China sourcing option. This supports compliance with regional trade policies and reduces procurement risk.
  1. Increased Capacity and Flexibility
Expanded backend operations allow MCC to support short lead-time and high-volume orders. Customers benefit from faster responses to changing demand.
  1. Shorter Lead Times and Regional Support
Proximity to Southeast Asian manufacturing hubs reduces delivery cycles and logistics costs. This accelerates time-to-market for global customers.
  1. Consistent Global Quality
All MCC facilities follow the same process controls, test standards, and traceability systems. Customers receive consistent product performance regardless of manufacturing origin.
  2. Sustainable and Scalable Infrastructure
The Vietnam site is built for long-term growth. It features energy-efficient operations and environmental management aligned with MCC’s global sustainability goals.
